Dermaplaning

A skin treatment using a specialized blade to remove dead skin and hairs for smooth, youthful, radiant appearance

What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a skin treatment that uses a specialized blade similar to a surgical scalpel called a dermatome to remove dead skin and hairs. People may also refer to it as microplaning or blading. The procedure aims to give facial skin a smooth, youthful, and radiant appearance. Dermaplaning is most effective at removing dead skin cells and addressing fine lines; it does not treat deep acne scarring, though it may help with dry skin and sun-damaged skin.

How It Works

Dermaplaning and shaving your face are very similar, but the main difference is that dermaplaning (performed by a professional) delivers a more thorough exfoliation, while shaving your face at home is a more budget-friendly, do it yourself option, and really only tackles peach fuzz.

Benefits & Results

Dermaplaning leaves you with slightly brighter, smoother skin by scraping off the top layer of dead skin cells, peach fuzz, and excess oils with a scalpel. The deep exfoliation treatment can remove up to two weeks of dead skin, and the results last about three weeks.
